Four weeks into the 2026 season, The Mud Bowl League refuses to scatter.
Cold Brew Crew leads at 2–1–0 with 363 points for. The Regrettables match their record, 345 points for. Behind them, Basement Champs, The Audible, The Front Office, and Hot Route Holliday all sit 2–1–0, separated from the lead by single-digit scoring margins and from each other by gaps you could thread a needle through. Parity this fierce does not feel like a league finding its form—it feels like a league refusing to break, every manager clawing to stay in the conversation while the points-for volume decides nothing yet.
The turning point is not behind us. It comes when one team in that five-team knot fractures—when one finds rhythm and the others begin the slide. Danny Kowalski has the points for to lead Cold Brew Crew through the next tier, but so does every other 2–1 manager. What separates hierarchy from chaos is consistency, and consistency takes more than four weeks to prove. The team to beat is the team that cracks the code first. Right now, that is an open question.
