Week 3 is closed. The numbers are in. The 2-1 logjam broke in an unexpected direction. Six teams now sit at 2-2. One team is alone at 3-1. Five teams are 1-3. That is the reading.

Here is the reading by ordinal.
1. Cold Brew Crew (3-1). A hundred and twenty-two points in a 24-point win over Fourth & Long. The highest score of the week, the highest points-for total in the league. Danny Kowalski's team did not need a Monday miracle. It ended the game by the fourth quarter.
2. The Regrettables (3-1). A hundred and thirty-three to a hundred and fifteen over Bench Mob. Alex Fontaine's team has the second-highest points-for in the league and a three-game win streak. The clean story says they are the hottest team in the league. The number says they have not faced a top-four scoring opponent yet, and that is the part you are going to argue about in the chat, and you should.
3. The Audible (3-1). A hundred and twenty-one to a hundred and eight over Waiver Wire Act. Riley Hoang's team won the callback that factored the desk's projection “The Number at the Top: Cold Brew Crew and The Regrettables Settle the Tie” (last week). Three wins by an average of nine point six. The record is 3-1. The points-for rank is eighth. That is a tension the numbers do not resolve yet.
4. Basement Champs (3-1). A hundred and thirty-seven to a hundred and twenty-seven over Grandma's Boys. Carlos Vega's team scored the most points in the league this week and is the only team to have won three games. The bench outscored Grandma's Boys' starters by less than ten, but the lineup that played did what it needed to.
5. The Front Office (2-2). A hundred and four to a hundred over Sack Religious. Nate Brennan's team won by four points in a game where no starter reached twenty. The clean version is that the defense carried the week. The number says the kicker scored nine and the opponent's kicker scored three, and that six-point swing is the margin and the plot.
6. Hot Route Holliday (2-2). Ninety-three to ninety-two over Two Beers Deep. Deshawn Holliday won by one point in a game that the footnote would call the closest of the week “The One That Was a Kick, and the One That Wasn't” (two days ago). Three of the team's four games have been decided by single digits. That is not a narrative. It is a data point.
7. Waiver Wire Act (2-2). A hundred and eight in a loss to The Audible. Priya Natarajan's team scored fewer than a hundred twenty for the second time in three weeks. The record is 2-2. The points-for rank is seventh. The margins are tight.
8. Grandma's Boys (2-2). A hundred and twenty-seven in a loss to Basement Champs. Tommy Wu's team is 2-2 after starting 1-0 with a league-record 138 points. The points-for total is second in the league. The record is exactly average.
9. Bench Mob (1-3). A hundred and fifteen in a loss to The Regrettables. Marcus Delgado's team has the highest points-against total in the league by ten. The number says the opponent has scored a hundred twenty or more in three of four weeks. That is a schedule problem, not a roster problem, but the ledger does not grade on degree of difficulty.
10. Fourth & Long (1-3). Ninety-eight in a 24-point loss to Cold Brew Crew. Jordan Reyes' team has scored fewer than a hundred points in two of three games. The points-for total is ninth. The injury slate is not the story; the point total is.
11. Two Beers Deep (1-3). Ninety-two in a one-point loss. Pat Gallagher's team has the lowest points-for total in the league and the lowest scoring average. The record book says this is the fewest points for a season. That is a title that no one wants on the shelf.
12. Sack Religious (1-3). A hundred even in a four-point loss to The Front Office. Sam Okafor's team scored exactly as many points as it allowed across four weeks. That is the definition of a .500 team with a 1-3 record. The number says the team that was on the field was average, and the record says it was not.
